For offshore fishing which is the better choice? 228g or 226.

Fishing wise having the motor closer to the stern has some advantages because sometimes when a fish is on the line it will run from side to side when it is behind the boat. If it is a big fish like the ones I always catch ( working the fish around the motor can be an issue. With that said, I preferred the full swim platform, the full closed stern and layout of the 228 over the 226, even when I am hauling those big fish aboard.

What Smoky said! Also, I much prefer the cockpit layout of the 228 - especially the location and accessibility of the livewell.

There was some fine posting on this recently by DocStresser that's worth reading. I had the 228 for many years and agree with the above.........
