Hey guys, I need help identifying a through hull fitting on a 248 voyager. The fitting is located in the right bay where the trim system is. It looks like maybe the bilge pump hooks to it but right now I just have an open through hull and I’m trying to figure out what goes there.

I’m also installing a new bilge system. So if that is not the bilge pump that goes to that through hull , where should I discharge the bilge? Thanks.

It's just a vent to prevent suction when transitioning up to plane. The other side should vent up top somewhere. It was necessary on hulls with the shorter running surfaces.

Thanks. So this vent hole is literally just supposed to be a hole in the boat a few inches above the waterline? No scupper flap or any check against water ingress??

How about the bilge discharge? The hose is just laying in the bilge - not sure where to attach it.

If you look on the inside of the bilge you should see a hose attached to that vent hole. It will vent into the engine splash well.
As for the bilge discharge, mine connected to a port side thru hull fitting about a foot above the waterline.
The GW website will have downloadable owners manual for your boat. It will have all of the thru hulls labeled and should have a diagram of the plumbing.
Prior to my 270, we owned a 99 248 for 10 years.

Thanks for the replies. Just to follow up for anyone else wondering:

Both of the vent thru hulls found in the trim board cavities are connected via hose to thru hulls in the rigging compartment in front of the outboard(s). One of mine was broken off, hence the original question.

The bilge routing is easily visible under the removable tub opposite the swim platform door.
