This was a year long project that's almost done ! New stringers , bulkeds, fuel tank , bow thruster , and repowered. Paint is Awlgrip Stars and Stripes blue , red bottom paint.
Great looking islander! I just picked up a '95 with the original 250 Yamaha. How is the Suzuki working for you? Though I am partial to 2 strokes, I may need a repower in the not too distant future. I will be replacing the thru hulls with bronze. Will be based on the Delmarva near Chincoteague
Thank you ! The engine only has a little over 25 hours before the end of the season last year . The boat cruises around 26/27 and tops out a little over 40 . Fuel burn around 2.0 mpg . Over the winter I had some cup added to the prop to get a little more grip , can't wait until I can get to try it out this season. I really like the Suzuki , so quiet you can't even hear it run !
Steelhead- do you have any photos of the stringer and fuel tank demo and

Sorry I just seen this message , I removed both bulkeds and still had to notch the steps. There is no way to remove the tank whole without notching the steps or rear compartment.Steelhead - I'm lookin into replacing the fuel tanks on my 268 Islander.
Do you have two tanks? Were boat replaced? How did they get the forward tank out? Any photo's?

Fuel tanks on hold for the moment. Right now my thinking is remove one bulkhead, slide the tank back and cut it. Replacement tank will be about 72 gallons - same as the aux tank. I don't need 205 gallons for my use - 145 would do.Sorry I just seen this message , I removed both bulkeds and still had to notch the steps. I'm looking at that Stars & Strips paint color for the hull. Looks awesome!Sorry I just seen this message , I removed both bulkeds and still had to notch the steps. There is no way to remove the tank whole without notching the steps or rear compartment.
The shop I had paint the hull , did redo some gelcoat around the rub rail . I replaced the rub rail also , but he mixed his own color. There is a company on ebay that I have bought Grady White color gel coat from and it is a very good match.I'm looking at that Stars & Strips paint color for the hull. Looks awesome!
Did you repaint the topside? I'm struggling to find a color for my faded gelcoat. What did you use?
