The spec for my Lewmar 700 is 1/2 in 3 plait nylon or optionally 8 plait. The manual does say that different manufacturers rope can vary and different sizes may work as well

It would be tight I'd say but maybe doable. 300 fit fine with room to spare. Check out Dark Horse Marine in FL. I had a good experience with them.

Even though you might fit 500 ft of rode, that doesn't mean it will work well if you have a windlass. They need a certain amount of drop (distance from the spot where the line enters the locker and the pile of rope in the locker. If there is too little drop or the rope is stiff and doesn't lay flat, the rope will jam in the windlass .
