Most people who install electronics use that switch to power the electronics such as radar MFD sonar radios etc. Grady-White provides it for installers to be able to switch power off and on to electronics. Depending on who installed the electronics, I assume you have some, they may or may not have used that switch as a power source.

I have 2-Simrad EVO 3s, and I want to shut them down the screen tells me to hold the shut down button until it shuts off I’m wondering if using the elect Tronics switch to do this may somehow damage these units , thoughts anyone on this, thanx

Generally a switch like that is used to cut power to all electronics and it may be used with an in-line power conditioner. It should shout off the transducer black box (If equipped) as well. it helps protect against surges and is also helpful if you want to reduce total draw on the batteries for some reason while anchored, etc. I would not use it to power off the system becasue most of the newer units go through a shutdown procedure that is software driven. Using this switch is equivelent to shutting off the batteries and would prevent the software driven shutdown.

Not a std GW switch I'd say. Prob a switch to the electronics bay. I'd trace it and see what it connects to.

The software shutdown procedure does not kill DC power to the MFDs or any other electronics. Their shutdown is strictly software. Therefore I would keep the switch and turn it off after the electronics shut down themselves. For installation and removal of the devices it is better to have no power going into the plug that connects to the device, There are other reasons as well. My advice is to keep it if it is connected.

I completely agree with what everyone has said and recommend following the shut down process of the MFDs by holding the power button. Then shut the switch off. I always leave my switch off unless I am using the units.

You should test the switch to make sure this is what it does. Turn on all of your electronics and then shut the switch off and see what units went off. I don't recommend shutting them down like this regularly but to verify the switch does what you think, one time won't hurt.
