I was wondering if any of you 306 owners have installed a trolling motor? If so, roughly what was the cost and how do you like it? I am fishing Cape Cod to Boston and out.

Welcome? The OP has been on the site for over 20 years now. 6 messages, and all with the same message of "Welcome". Spam perhaps?

To the OP... here's a link to a 306 Canyon for sale on Boat Trader, of which it has an electric trolling motor up on the bow. Looking at the stern of the boat, I'm not sure if you'd be able to add a trolling motor back there. But, you might be able to contact the company selling the boat on BT, see if they will give you the contact information for the seller of the boat and ask them what questions you might have? But to answer your question, it definitely looks like something that's a possibility for your boat. If they aren't able to do so, you could always give your local Grady White dealership a call and see what they have to say.

The OP has 356 messages.

It was the person who joined 3/12/25 who responded with "Welcome" to six different threads. I think he got bounced from the site.

Yes... that was the point... and said as much with the OP having been on the site for over 20 years now. The fact that the new person had 6 messages, all of which said welcome, was the point I was trying to make for potentially being spam.

If you are patient a few months i can tell you how the Garmin Kraken works on my 2011 306 Canyon.
The project is:
add a SS base plate just before the bow clamp
run the cables over the gunnel down to the cup holder
hru a watertight gland inside the hull
Exit with another gland on a plate thru the bow locker door
Make a "watertight/resistant" box for the 36V LiFePo battery who reside there under the closed bow table i always have down as bow platform.

As my boat is in a slip without shore power i probably will install 2 solar panels on the hard top and a solar charger who charge only the 36V battery.
Option would be to make a quite more complicated system with 36V charging also from the engines, but i guess i will do this either when afloat or next winter.
Yes, i am aware that 2 solar panels will not be enough to charge the battery for everyday use, but i don't need the TM, so i guess i can deal with that, if not i add charging from engines too.

If your Canyon is on a trailer recharging is much more simple, just add a 110-36V charger.

Chris

EDIT: Just got the quote for installation of the Kraken and they quoted almost 8000$
So i will need to find another company who install it, install it by my self or drop the project as only Kraken, Battery and installation would be 15K what is much more than i am willing to pay for.
