Hey folks, I was thinking of installing a remote control searchlight on the hard top with the control panel next to the thruster joystick. Is there a way to get access under the electronic box to run the wiring? Also will I have to pull the panel with the guages on it to get at the wiring tube to the radio box?

I'm trying to remember how it goes on the 330.....I'm pretty sure you have to remove the fuse panel in the cabin....That'll give you access to under the electronics box......You may be able to reach the downtube from there...But I don't remember....Pulling the guage cluster off is easy though....just a few screws........Simpler install....and one I've seen done many times....Is just to mount the spotlight control between the two upper radio boxes........You most likely already have a relay panel there from your initial electronics install...

OK -is not that bad. Run your electronics box up and far as it goes. Then disconnect the pin in the push rod. This will allow you to push it back even further. You will need to tie it in place so it can't fall back. Next, you will notice 10-12 screws around the lip of the fiberglass pan that holds the electronis box. Remove the screws and remove the pan. (this takes a little jiggling and manuevering since it's a tight fit. (and it's a lot easier with 2 people) Once the pan is removed you will have open access to all the wiring and the wiring chases.

This should not take more than 10 minutes.

I installed one on my 33 '08 hard top. I don't know if they are all the same. The power strip is right inside the electonics cabinet attached to the hardtop. The wiring just goes to the strip mounted in the starboard cabinet. straight shot. Since the remote is wireless it mounts anywhere. The 12 volts just goes to the light.
Now my issue was the reflection was so bad mounting it there I couldn't see anything. I removed it an put one out on the pulpit. It is removable, you just install the pergo socket, run your electric to the windlass power and the control is remote which is in a plastic case. Thus when not in use I store below. Pergo socket has a cover to protect it. My dealer saw it and loved it.

Thanks guys. Gulfcart, the light I have was a gift and it isn't wireless. Where was the one you removed mounted that it gave you glare problems? And was that the link to the light you are now using?

Yeah, that link is the one I installed 2nd.
I installed the first right on the front edge of the hard top. I have a buddy with a 36 he had the same problem. He made a shield he mounted under neath the light that protudes out about 6 or 8 inches all around the light to keep the reflection off. Because of the radar I couldn't mount it back far enough to prevent the glare. I would try it at night before you permanently mount it. You'll know right away if it will work.
