As a follow up to my previous post - I am back on the boat & took some photos of the fresh water flush on my boat.
This first photo shows the connection to the garden hose and where it connects to a brass ball valve that is attached to the back of genny compartment - I couldn't get a photo of the ball valve but a ball valve is a ball valve.
This photo shows where the tee connects to the output from the raw water pump - note that my pump is lower than my strainer which made it very easy to lose prime - the high speed clamshell totally fixed the problem
This photo is why I had a muriatic acid flush done on the A/C system - the boat is in the Keys and I was on it in April and then not until July, this is what the strainer looked like when I arrived - surprisingly the A/C system was pulling enough water to operate off shore power but was too much for the genny to handle.
And this is the same strainer after a soaking in a muriatic acid bath - I took a small container about 1/2 gallon, filled it with water and a splash of muriatic acid. I was able to hose out most of the "stuff" (some living) and then did the acid bath 3 times
Hope this helps
