Can anyone tell me if they have run AC on the 330 Express with an external generator and if so, what size? I've read several posts on boats up to 27' with a Honda 2000 but haven't seen anything on a 12,500 but unit.

first, you shouldn't use a non-marine genset yada, yada...

you'll need to check the draw requirements on the a/c and match to the generator. if the a/c is original, the initial surge may be pretty high. i know that my '09 runs up on the spike. stable cooling is about 1 to 1.2 kw. you also need to consider if you are going to use any other electrical items. there are larger units. good luck, ron

I heard that from boat electrician as well, but I don't use generator enough to put in a 3d one! Want it for occasional South Florida humid overnights at anchor running AC alone

If you install a $400 smart start soft start onto your air conditioner you may be able to run the 12k air on an older Honda 2k gen.

The new honda 2k gens with the larger dia fuel caps can't start air conditions as well as the older 2k gens.
