330 outriggers

Anybody have any pic of your outrigger set up on a 330? the taco 280 Speciffically

Presuming you mean hardtop mounts? I have side mounts if it will help?

Not to interfere with you thoughts, but we installed Lee’s Jr wishbones on our 282 and love them. 19th solid aluminum poles is just the bomb for pulling 4 Lines.

Where are you attaching the halyard at? How long are the poles?

Not to hijack the thread, but... top of the hard top vs side of the cabin. I see a few pros and cons, but the side-cabin ones seem like they would be a lot cheaper to install and also easier to get to or maintain when using, except they block the forward bow access.

Thoughts on all of the different models?

When I purchased my 330 it looked just like themikehyde’s boat with the side mount 25’ outriggers. The guy I bought it from kept it in the water so it wasn’t an issue for him.

I wanted to keep it on a rack inside storage. It quickly became an issue as I had to lay the outriggers down to put boat away & raise them every time I launched the boat. My first attempt to make it easier was to replace the actual 18’ rigid outrigger with a collapsable Taco outrigger. It made it easier but still a PITA.

Last year I replaced the 7’ bases with a Taco 280 - made life a whole lot better. This is what it looks like now.
BTW I did add the backing plates that are not included in 280 kit - don’t know if it makes a difference but it sure makes me feel better.

I had backer plates installed when I ordered the hard top, was cheaper than adding them later. I was just curious if the side mounts got in the way or if working on the top mounts was a pain.

When I had the side mounts on, it was not really that bad to get around then when going forward. It actually gave more places to grab. I like the hardtop mounts with the retractable poles. I would like that for the fact they would work with our covered slip. Nice job Jip40.

Installed the lines today. I used the same attachment point as the previous owner. Still have room to get to the front of the boat under the lines. The poles are 18’

I found the removal of the side mounts definitely makes forward access easier.

The installation of the top mounts was as simple as drilling a 3 1/8” center hole and 4 thru bolt holes on both sides of boat - just need a friend to stand behind the boat to make sure alignment was correct. Easy /pesy. BTW the 280 footprint completely covered the side mount installation point

Deployment of riggers is as simple as standing on the gunnel & sliding the sections out same with stowing them
