we are looking at a 2008 leftover grady 360 with twin 350s and need some feed back from owners who have one and can tell us whether the boat has enough power or not and what is the fuel consumption- we asked the grady dealer if he could give us the numbers of other owners and they wouldn't- but we knew we could get some some straight facts from other owners here- please help if u can-as we are totally confused and don't want to listen to a salesman trying to sell a left over boat we mostly boat in the bahamas and the keys if that helps and our runs are usually 35 miles or more and are always 30 to 50 miles from shore 8)

Flawaterbug: Welcome to the forum. I don't know the answer to your question, but below are the numbers Grady posts on their website for a 360 w twin F350s. I have generally found Grady's numbers to be accurate so long as you keep in mind the phrase "optimum conditions". I suspect others will post their experiences.

We have a 2008 360 with twin 350's, and we do not feel that it is underpowered. Speed tops out at about 40 MPH when properly trimmed (full fuel & water, four adults). We tend to cruise in the low 30's getting .6 to .7 miles per gallon. It is a bit slow out of the hole, but it is quite a heavy boat.
(Prior to this boat, we had a 330 with twin 250's (four stroke); our 360 seems to have slightly more power than the 330.)
Obviously, your needs/expectations may be different from ours. No matter what, I strongly suggest a sea trial.

P.S. We positively LOVE this boat and intend to keep it for quite some time. No problems at all so far (although we did install an inverter for the refrigerator and freezer for a bit more quiet at anchor than the generator allows).

I never recall reading on this site reported by owners, any factory motor equipped new model Grady was underpowered.

Yes. After last season our dealer (where the boat is stored over the winter) performed the required flywheel service on both engines. That said, we had no issues with the engines last year (2008) nor this year. Fingers crossed..... ;-)

We've run the inverter for about six hours at a time; it seamlessly and perfectly runs the refrigerator/freezer drawers. We installed it and its batteries where the fish tackle drawers were on the starboard side; the weight distribution on the boat remained fine. I would do it again with no modifications.

36 GW fuel usage with twin 350s
I have a 2008 36 GW and my fuel consumption is close to but somewhat higher than the figures published by GW. For instance, when I cruise with 2/3 fuel and 4 aboard I get .8 mpg and 29 mph at 4400 rpms. I feel the boat performs very satisfactorily with this engine configuration and it has plenty of reserve power. I would recommend a sea trial and you can verify the fuel usage on the same boat you are looking at buying (assuming your boat has the GPS connected to the Yamaha fuel management gauge).
