I had to find a hidden 100 Amp fuse that was beneath the shadow of the battery selection box. I need to move that fuse so I can change it without having to remove the battery switch panel.

In the end the panel is working fine. The generator was hydro locked and had water in the oil. After adjusting the valves and changing the oil 6 times the generator starts right up. However, I'm still getting some milky oil so I'll continue to warm the oil and change it out until it appears normal.

I think I hydro locked the genset when I had a hose hooked up and didn't realize how much pressure the shop hose bib had. Now I'm using 5 gallon buckets to siphon water to the water filter.

That is the reason we close the seacock when running with the generator not running. When underway with the generator running, exhaust pressure keeps the raw water from backing up into the exhaust valves. The exhaust is raw water cooled, whereas the block is cooled by antifreeze/water mixture by way of a heat exchanger. I'd run the generator alot to clear the water out of the cylinder and flush the engine oil until it is perfect. Thanks for posting, it is a lesson for us all! Sounds like you dodged a bullet!

Good thing it was fresh water, and didn't sit. FP was very good in emailing advice and instructions every step, on a holiday weekend. Cudos to FP.

And, leaves from the trip from transom shop to home with low hanging trees. The back was opened up.

Here is my method to prevent hydro lock from pressure.

My system to insure no more hydro locks. Hose to bucket, siphon to water filter.20220225_162056.jpg20220225_162101.jpg

Hi No Bail,

I have a Grady White 376 Caynon and i have Fischer Panda Generator.

I am having the same issue as you; the generator starts and its all good but all of the sudden when switched to generator power on the board; its not powering up.

How did you sort out your issue and what was the issue?

I think our issues are fundamentally different. Your genset starts and runs, mine didn't want to start at all.

I'd call Fischer Panda as I found them to be very helpful with direct and specific steps to take.

Good luck. Sorry I don't have more to add.

How did you create the Strainer cover with the hose attachment? I am in salt water and would like to flush the lines when bringing boat out after running.
Great warning about the backflow of water into cylinders through exhaust valves. I was not too concerned about when having seacock open while running but obviously it does pose a serious risk.
If leaving seacock open when taking boat out the water runs out and starting the gen when launching requires a reprime. It takes a few starts to get water flowing and the gen remains running but I prefer that to having saltwater sitting in exhaust channels and heat exchanger all the time.

Any thoughts on all of this?

Hans

I bought two of the flush connections. Wow, the price went out of sight for these.
