AC System, Testing Seawater Pump?

My 2007 Marlin has a 7K AC/reverse heat system. It didn't turn on the last time I tried. Now the boat is in my shop, I'll be able to pull ithe boat out next week to put water in the system.

Is there a way to test the seawater pump without pulling it for the bench? I'd hate to order one and find out it still works.

I don't have the manual for the controller handy, but I seem to remember there is a test procedure that you can run from the controller after you get into the maintenance and troubleshooting modes. It has some built in test functions.

Thanks. I located a 2006 manual, must be for this unit controller. I'll give the test a try tomorrow. I also saw that I can recall the old settings, so maybe I'll try that to see if I can get the pump to make some noise. The fan comes on, so I'm hopeful.

You can close the sea cock take the lid off the strainer put a slow running water hose in the strainer and turn the system on to see if the pump works. I do this with my marlin when it’s on the trailer and I’m working in the cabin and want a/c

Yes, I have a hose fitting for the Groco filter. I need one more day to finish bottom painting, then I can pull it out of my shop to test. I'll also run the gender using the same style of adaptor.

Just to update, I did test the AC reverse heat while hooked up to a faucet. The heat turned on and went from 62 to 70 degrees in the cuddy.

So I buttoned up the hatches and will see when I launch the boat. It seemed as if the pump was working but I'm not sure. Perhaps the water pressure was just turning the impeller.

Now if I can figure out the humidity settings, that is all I want from the system. It is usually so mild off the Oregon coast I don't need the AC or heat.

Does anyone use the moisture mode on their AC?

I read the online manual while trying to get my unit into the moisture mode.


"Power & Down buttons (On Mode) - Simultaneously press the Power and Down buttons while in the On Mode to
enter the Moisture Mode."

I'm confused by this mode. I tried multiple times but could not get the moisture mode. From the manual it seems a straight forward process.

"MOISTURE MODE
Use Moisture Mode to help control humidity. While in the On Mode, simultaneously press the Power and Down buttons. The first
cycle starts in one minute. Every four hours, the fan circulates air for 30 minutes. During this time, the air temperature is
sampled and entered into memory. If necessary, the cooling cycle starts and continues until the temperature is lowered 2°F
(1.1°C) or until the compressor runs a maximum of one hour. Four hours after the temperature is satisfied or the compressor
times out, the cycle repeats. The “HU1” code displays while in Moisture Mode. Press the Power button once to end Moisture
Mode."

On the upside the heat cycle took the 56° day and had the cuddy to 68° in no time.
