AC isn’t as cool as it used to be and wondering if there is an easy way to add refrigerant?

It should have ports on it. You really need to hang gauges and check your pressures. I would make sure you have good water flow through the system first.

Very good water flow. I’m wondering if those kits you buy in store to recharge cars will work?

The type and amount of Freon will be on a tag on the compressor. The year of manufacture will determine type of Freon .

I would not use the freon kit from a store. Im a mechanic and do AC all the time. First determine the type and amount. To do it correctly you would need to evacuate the system with a vacuum pump and create a vacuum of 25-28 inches of vacuum in the system. Then introduce the freon and possibly a little Compressor oil. You will need a set of gauges to see your pressures. Not a do it yourself job. If you just add freon it wont work well. There is air in the system that has to be removed first, thats why the vacuum pump.
