Finally had a Sunday to myself. Replaced all the cockpit teak with starboard. I didn't have a full 8' sheet of 3/8" material so I had to make the long pieces along the gunnel out of 3' sections with 45* miters. Next are the bulkheads, doors, and helm teak.
Been awhile since I put any time into the boat. Put in two new speakers to replace the original ones that came with the boat. Also made a new stern access panel. Have plans this winter to install an electronic head/holding tank, new stereo/VHF flush mount panel, and washdown pump setup. Cheers!
Just about finished my flush mount panel for the electrical box. Wanted to flush mount but not lose all that room back there so I made a small hatch so I can still throw my phone/wallet etc back there. Still have to adjust the piano hinge a touch on the door to make the gaps more even.
Started to neaten up/rewire the boat and accessories. Ran 2 new 8g wires (ground/main feed) and 50 amp breaker from the batt switch to helm. Wired in my new stereo, VHF, head, 12V receptacle, USB charger and cleaned up the wiring the previous owner had done.
Well since my lower crapped out on me towards the end of last season, I've been looking for a reman/used one for awhile. Found one last night in CT not too far with less than 300 hrs on it. Got a pretty good deal on it I feel, we'll see how long it lasts. Previous owner of my boat said he would give me 500$ towards it, so that paid for half of it right there! Hopefully buying used doesn't bite me in the a**. I plan on fully servicing it before mounting it up.
It's been awhile. Super busy at my new job along with sidework. Got around to servicing my new to me lower, did a bunch of service to my E-tec, finished up some wiring on my stereo/VHF, replaced the original Grady decal and stripes along with adding a name to the boat, put in a washdown, and put in another thru-hull In my forward fuel tank compartment for my head intake.
Boats been running great can't ask for much more. Hopefully when work slows down alittle I'll get around to installing the electric head.
Finally had a free day and it was too crappy to fish in the morning so I decided to get on installing my Jabsco head.
I started making starboard mounts for the holding tank, but never finished so today I just used some 2x material to mount and secure it. The original wood that I guess holds the forward tank in was still good so I left it in. Drilled holes in the bulk head for the 3/4" inlet and 1" outlet hose. All that's left is some plumbing and wiring should be good to go.
Like a glove!
Still have about a 1/2" from the top of the hatch to the seat cover.
