Another way to fish for Tuna

Wow awesome video....guess I'm buyin some bamboo poles now...j/k
50's are overkill nowadays anyways, I've switched to 30W's for yellowfin.

Too bad those fish will have a lot of bruised and spoiled meat with how they are thrown around and then left on deck for hours on end before being iced in a hold. I wonder how heavy that leader was that they could loft fish that heavy?...

Thats true, but I wouldnt want to catch a 200-300 lb tuna(the big ones they were swinging in) on a 30.

I have commerical fished for Albacore this way using Lift Poles with barbless hook. Its a blast, one day myself and 2 other guys lift polled 142 Albacore. Most were 20 to 45 lbs. One guy on the tank and the other two using the poles. Don't ever let one get there head turned on you, you have to be fast and fluid. Its fun once you get the hang of it. Some of those tuna were huge, wow. Those guys were good.
