Decided I want to try the SEM Vinyl Coat spray on my well-worn arm rests that Teaklejr recommended. But I'd like to get the arms off the chair for a neater spray job. Wondering if anyone else has removed one of these arms with the 'lock in place' mechanism?

I can easily back out the hex screw nearly all the way. but the arm does not just loosely come with it. There is something, I suspect with the locking mechanism, holding it in place. Before I just tug hard and regret moving internal pieces that I'll never get aligned again, I'll ask here. The opposite side of the chair provides no back-door access.

I've tried emailing Pompanette twice with no response.

Thanks in advance for anyone more experienced than me!

I took mine off the spray them and they came off without a problem. I did not see any issue once the arm was off. They went back on without a hitch.
Oh by the way they look great after the spray on vinyl coating. It has been 9 months since I did it they look good thus far.

same here. there are some internal parts, but you can easily reassemble as well as dry fit/test before you reinstall.
