Curious who here makes thier own lures.

Also, who fishes for Yellowfin Tuna or Mahi or Wahoo?

Was going to print some heads on my 3d printer, then buy skirts for making my own lures, just for fun. Curious on the best length. I was looking at like6" skirts....not sure what length is best.

I got into that several years ago due to being a cheapskate. I poured acrylic heads with metallic prism paper with dolls eyes embedded in the plastic. I used them to troll for blue marlin, sailfish, white marlin, wahoo and mahi. They worked great. The skirts were a good bit longer than 6". Probably 9" to 12".

I was thinking I would need longer ones ... all depending on what I was fishing for, Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi, Marlin... etc. The price of the lures is crazy. I can print clear or colored heads, make them hollow, and fill them with lead or whatever.. and then buy 50 packs of 6" skirts for like 25 bucks from china.. 50 bucks for 10" etc..

Might be fun to do..

Here is the FB page. I bought about 8 from him years ago to go off the beach. Still have em and they still work. It was Saltybugger back then. Some videos on FB on building and construction.
