I know the feeling. I used to drop traps in Hood Canal in Washington, years ago. Same deal as you, we would drop the gear with the appropriate marker bouys with registration numbers on them like the fish cops wanted, and then go off trolling for a few hours. Eventually the theivery of the traps got so bad and the season got so short, we just stopped doing it.
