Aux Tank Compartment Storage

Did a search with no luck. Has anyone created additional storage in a older 22' by using an empty aux tank compartment? Or any older model with an empty aux compartment? It's a shame to let that space go empty, but I don't want to get stupid with cost, either. Anyone? :wink:

I'm doing that in my 227. Nothing fancy though. My plan is to simply fill the screw holes in the perimeter, put some sort of pull in the lid so I can lift it up and build a subfloor out of pressure treated wood that just rests on the hull bottom.

Maybe someday I'll make it pretty, but I don't have time for that now.

I saw your post during the search. Wanted to do something more on the line of a smaller :wink: hatch, but your idea is certainly workable ...

GW204, are you going to have the deck cover "free floating" on the lips without some sort of tie down?
This space use has gotten me interested.
