1990 seafarer. The copper tube that goes through the transom on the ball scuppers , the flange is starting to crack. I’m concerned about water eventually working its way into the transom. Should I do away with the ball scuppers, and go to a different style?
Thanks for your help.

The ball scuppers have nothing to do with the tube - they're totally separate things.

Yes, replace the bronze/brass tube.

But... this is a really strange thing for a below the waterline scupper... how does the scupper attach on the inside? These bronze/brass tubes are usually used for a motor well drain.

Replace the tube with a normal scupper fitting.

The water that goes through the tube goes directly into the scupper. The scupper is on the out side of the tube.

TH Marine makes some nice plastic tubes, as well. Good company to deal with.

A chisel and hammer makes removal of the brass ones super easy.

Can replace the drain tubes with brass (same as stock) need to ensure right size, seal and flare the ends. Alternativeky there are some nice 2 piece ones out there. A google search or an Amazon search away.
