I replaced the aluminum bang plate on my 01 265 Express when I bought it in 2018. Waiting on new motors and want to redo or replace. Option 1 is to go back to GW and reorder their plastic bang cap. Option 2 would be to configure a Stainless piece and put over this existing piece. Thoughts?

If you opt for stainless steel do not even think about putting it on top of the aluminum. I opted for the vinyl and was very happy. Stainless over aluminum would make a real mess considering bimetallic corrosion. Using stainless under aluminum engine mounts is also questionable.

I used a stainless steel bang plate. I filled the gap with epoxy, in hindsight, I wish I would have fiberglassed over the gap.
