I want to install a high pressure fresh water wash down pump in my 2000 Islander and am curious what your recommendations would be for a pump with spunk. She stays on a mooring in salt water so flushing the engine is the main reason I want higher pressure but general washing will also be done. I thought of converting the cockpit shower to one but the regular water pump isn't enough power to flush the engine and wash the boat.
Thanks

I don't see any reason that you couldn't use a standard raw water wash down pump like the Shurflo ProBlaster with your freshwater system. 4 gallons per min at 45 psi should be plenty for flushing your engine with the hose attachment. Don't run the engine while flushing.

The difference between the standard Blaster and the ProBlaster is that the latter is designed for continuous usage, which is what you want for flushing. They also make an Extreme ProBlaster that is supposed to deliver 5 gallons per minute.
