I have the same Sailfish and I know your pain. a couple of years ago I tried to replacee my bilge pump and after several hours of going into the bilge head first I decided this job was worth farming out to the dealer. Good luck and congrats for getting in the pump out of the depths!

Does anyone know the handle length on a Seafarer 228? I'm about to try to replace mine.

my guess is 24" since that is what TH marine is out of. Murphy's law!
