Hello everyone, looking to see if any one has installed a black oak light bar on a grady 257 fisherman hard top looking for location and if installed directly to the t-top or on a bracket lifting it up some?

Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Armando

A wooden light bar?

But as far as installing whatever that is, the Grady model really doesn't come into play. Where do you want to put it? It's really just a matter of knowing that and then making it happen. Every install may be slightly different based on what you have and how you want it mounted. In the end, it's just nuts and bolts and a little wiring.

A better explanation and/or pics may help.

No it’s not wood, that’s the name brand.
Model is 257 fisherman. Center console. Main question is in bracket to lift it up higher or straight to the t-top.

If you must use a light bar, you want it low enough, and far enough back from the front edge, that the top shields the front of the boat from any direct light, which will kill your night vision.

Brand... OK. Is there something different about whatever this is that makes it different (mounting-wise) from other light bars? Hard to say, from our end, without a picture.

Installing on the front or the rear? Need that info, too. Answers will vary based on that (see directly above for a tip about the front)

But if you're only asking about "how" to raise it... just get some aluminum angle iron or even use some HDPE spacers.

This is pretty easy stuff, though - so don't overthink it. It's basic installation stuff.

I second Glacierbaze's comment. I mounted one on my 265 no problem. Thru bolt and seal the holes and do not let it shine on the bow. Otherwise it is as straight forward as you think. Black Oak LED are awsome!
