Block GW sailfish 282

Sailfish 282 not sitting right on the trailer. Too far back. New trailer not properly adjusted. I need to move it up about 14 inches minimum. 22 inches would be ideal. I know I can block the transom corners (chines). Can I block anywhere along the centerline at the bow.

I just need to raise it few inches so I can slide the bow catcher back and push the trailer up a bit.

Can't find any info on proper support block positions.

Yes, you could block anywhere under the keel. But you're over thinking things. Loosen the strap and loosen the winch stand nuts is probably all you need to do to slide the stand fwd. You should be able to then crank the boat back into the winch stand with the winch. Or, get it as tight as you can do a couple hard stops from about 10MPH - repeat as needed.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to put the boat on a slight decline and tried to crank it but no go. I figure even if I take most of the weight off the trailer, I should be able to use the winch to move the trailer

You didn't mention... is it a roller trailer?

So... the hard braking method obviously isn't as easy as with a roller trailer. But if you wet the bunks really well and crank the winch really tight, you CAN get the boat to move. It does somewhat depend on the truck you have and how good the brakes are, though. Silicone spray is another option to spray on the carpet - you'll probably need a couple cans. Give it a few minutes to seep down between the carpet and hull.

Is there a ramp convenien? If so, take a few tools to loosen the winch stand bolts. After getting to the ramp, move winch stand to desired position, retighten bolts, leaving winch strap connected. Back trailer down until boat floats, winch up to new position.
