I was going to skip bottom painting this year but on closer inspection the orignal blue paint was strarting to show thorugh the black that is on the boat now - I know I would be kicking myself all sumer if it started to look black and blue 1/2 way through the season -
Here is the tip - this year I used Pettit Hyrdocoat paint - it is a water based paint -goes on much easier than the older paint, dries to a real smooth finish and cleans up easily and there are virtuall no fumes - I had the whole boat done in 1 1/2 hours - it does need 16 hours to dry before launch and you need to make sure it does not rain for several hours since it is water based - time will tell how good it is
