I ran from FLA to Staten Island NY. On route back. This trip is a good 2500 mile run. Looking forward to hitting the gulf. Just in time for the King runs.

It’s been a trip and I never left the farm.

Thanks to the help from everyone here, I have this boat.
There were no trailers to be found anywhere. From Tampa to Port Charlotte to Brooklyn, NY. Nothing. Backlogs were two months! I was advised to get a bigger trailer which I did. I went back to Port Charlotte and cancelled that trailer to get a bigger one in Fort Meyers, FLA. that fits perfectly.

Today, I’m on route to SC. Tomorrow, FLA.

A big thank you to you all.

Congrats on the 228, wish I still had my 226.

Why thank you mmiela. I’m really having a good time getting to know the In and outs from the electronics (Simrad) to how she runs. Looks we’re going to be on some Kings next weekend. The Spanny Macs and the little tuni’s are also running. Don’t have to go out to deep blue water either. Two to four footer’s inshore tomorrow. Looks like it’s a good day to put the FL #’s on. I’ve had the NY #’s for over a month. The water temps still a little to high to...85. It’ll cool down by then.

I’m sorry to hear about your 226. Hopefully it ended on a good note?

Yeah I sold it up north in CT before moving to St. Augustine. Dang COVID put the transport and the move on separate schedules. Just didn’t work out. Happier now boat less as I’m playing a lot of golf.

COVID almost put the cabbash on my boat several times. I lucked out with the trailer. There were none, a two month waiting list . I checked from NYC to Fla... nothing. On this site a member mentioned Tropic Trailer’s. He had one. Just in time. They lifted the lockdown just before I left. Pretty crazy times my friend.

Very nice color as well. Congrats.

Wow, what a learning curve. I’ve been on the water my entire life. Each boat have been world’s apart. I’m enjoying the learning process once again. This one’s on a trailer not a lift. Yesterday, I ran directly onto trailer from the water. A little tricky with the pulpit but, doable.

looks like i have a new lady in my life. Like another compatriot said, “once you own a boat, life becomes more reasonable.”

I have a 2008 trailer for my GW 228 that was used for a NY to California drive. I want to not own it and have it for sale on Great Grandy and a local site and just one email so far.

sturg.

"IZON" - thanks for the reply. Just sent an email to the nearby GW dealer in Campbell Ca - their website has just a new and used 208 for sale. - the 2019 with no hrs is priced at 68k - maybe I will get a positive response before I give up and get the trailter to the refuse center.

I have been dumb and have paid for storage for five years and have never used the trailer once and probably never will.
