Question...

Has anyone put a bow mount trolling motor on their 225 Grady White Tournament?

Pounds of thrust?

Shaft length?

Volts?

Any suggestions...

I would be surprised if anyone has done that...the bow is so tall on that model and the boat is heavy...don't think it is even possible...but would be interested if it worked for someone.

I have only seen one on a Sportsman 180.

I seriously considered having a bowmount installed on my 225 - since I relied on it in my previous boat. After measuring it appeared that the propeller would be coming out of the water with any wave action - even the 70 inch shaft. So I had an Engine Mount Electric installed. It is a Minnkota EM 160 - 160 lb thrust with a dual propeller. I have enjoyed using this unit - no deployment or retrieval. Not as nimbal as a bowmount but with more power. If it is breezy, I get more control with a wind sock(s) out.
