I have used one of these for years. I does NOT tension the anchor chain, but it also never comes loose.

Yeah, that is the other option, but not wanting to drill more holes again. Mounted the stupid tensioner twice already! :jaw For now, I just put my safety rope back on to secure it. Only takes a second to release it,but I like the cable much more.
