Starting to crack. The hard plastic type material. It looks like one piece for the entire ceiling. Any thoughts on how to contain it or repair. Thanks

I recommend you ask Grady White and send them a picture. Let us know their reply.

Pretty common issue unfortunately. It is a thin headliner that is attached to the ceiling. In when the cold weather comes the materials can behave differently (thermal coefficient differences) and you may get a crack. It usually happens first few years. There is a process to repair that GW recommends for the dealers. Usually once fixed you are good to go. See the dealer and see if GW will cover.

Spoke to Grady CS today and they said to drill a hole about 3/16" right at the end of the crack and it should stop it from traveling. So I did that as soon as I got home. If it stops there I should b ok. It's about an 1-1/4" long right in the corner above the sink. Hope for the best. Thanks for the input. Tight lines.

I know they have done more for other owners than tell them to "drill a hole to stop it from spreading." They covered the repair of an owner I know, had the authorized repairman come to the boat and he fised it in no time, couldn't even tell it was ever there. If you aren't happy with the crack, I would push it. If you don't ask, the answer is already no.

Have an 01 265 Express. Called Grady about the same problem two years ago and the manager of cust. relations/service told me he had never heard of the problem. When I mention this forum and names of people that posted that they had even been taken care of beyond warranty.,he reminded me that he told me it would not be looked at by Grady. End of subject. He did ask me if there was anything else he could help me with.....LOL

I've got an '07 Marlin with the same problem. It's been fixed by Grady White 3 separate times without question. The first two times by the local rep, the last time the factory sent a team to fix it. Do not accept "No" for an answer. It's a known problem and it's covered under warranty.
