Changing Cartridge Fuel Filter

I need to change the fuel filter cartridge on my 175 spirit. Is there any trick to changing the cartridge so that no fuel is spilled in the process?

Are you referring to the engine filter or the large fuel filter/separator?
If the large, loosen the filter slightly with a filter wrench. Then place a large zip lock type bag around the filter body and spin off the element. The bag will catch any fuel than leaks ( and fuel probably will spill)

make sure you lube up the rubber ring good when you put on the new one,they sometimes come off hard dry .
