Starting to wonder what is going on? Help me understand before I buy a Tiara or Pursuit and look for intelligent life elsewhere.....
Been in the 30’s to lows 20’s where I am from. Can’t wait till April so I can start to get the boat ready for May.
We in SW Fla went thru a stretch of 60's/day-40's night during that "Polar Vortex" that turned the Eastern Half of the US into an icebox a week or so ago.
Unreal..People brought their pets indoors and we dressed in layers in the evening hours.
The Local News was leading off with the "cold temps" every night.
Can you imagine??A week of 60 degree temps! Brr...Glad THAT'S over....

I live in SW Florida also and totally agree. I went through my normal winterizing process (tossing a long sleeved Tee in the boat) and there were a few days that compromised my comfort. Thankfully we seem to be coming out the other end of the crisis.
Now THAT right there is funny!
I've come to realize that every area has their idiosyncrasies. In our area, when there's a forecast for a "Winter Storm" (say 3"-6"... that's the funny part... as if 3"-6" is a "storm")... you can pretty much be guaranteed that the grocery stores will be mobbed and the shelves will be cleaned out of bread and milk. People seem to think that they're going to be holed up in their homes for days on end. And don't get me started on the "the roads are SO bad out there" when there's 2" on the roads. Or the "need" to have 4WD to make it through 2" of snow. I sometimes drive my old '97 BMW (rear wheel drive, of course) on PURPOSE during the snow (as long as it's not so deep that the front end starts acting as a plow). It ain't rocket science.
Hi DenisG01, I'm new to these forums. I saw that you hail from Friendship ME. I am located in Flood's Cove in Friendship. You don't often see anything from someone that knows where Friendship is. Just thought I would say hello. Now THAT right there is funny!

No, you certainly don't! That's a nice area - tucked in around the back side of Martin's Point. Are you there year round? With a name like Gator Doc, I would expect you to hail quite bit further South! We are on the Island (most of the inlet/gut area that is SE from Martin's Point) and also over in Cushing, on Davis Point - right across from the "foot" of Crotch I.Hi DenisG01, I'm new to these forums. When you say you are on the Island, are you meaning Friendship Long Island, or Garrison maybe. Either way, it's a beautiful part of the world. I'm usually here from May through October. Maybe we can get together sometime next summer. No, you certainly don't! That's a nice area - tucked in around the back side of Martin's Point. Are you there year round? Sorry, I meant Friendship. I'm so used to just saying "we're going to the island" Sounds like a plan! When you say you are on the Island, are you meaning Friendship Long Island, or Garrison maybe.
