I'm looking at getting my 2nd Grady White, a 2001 265. I called Grady to see about getting the parts for a 2005 265 that added the forward looking back rest on the wrap around seating. I got no help.

Has anyone done this or looked for away to convert the pre 2002 265 seating to the new arrangement which is a forward looking backrest?

Thanks

Also is a MPG of 1.2 - 1.3 a cruise a legit number with 4 guys + full fuel?

thanks!

I have a 2004 model, so I can't help on the conversion of the seating. The backrest is held on with a SS fitting that attaches with a thumbscrew, so I'm not sure how you would retrofit it.

Re the fuel economy, I have F225s (rebuilt because of the corrosion I might add) and I monitor fuel consumption using the Yam gauge and the GPS. However, I double check it by seeing how much fuel it actually takes after each fill up (totalizer gauge is reset to zero at each fill up) and compare it to what the gauge says. The gauge always shows 15% more fuel used than actually added to the tank, so my fuel economy by the gauge is higher by 15%. Having said all that, I see 1.5 to 1.7 mpg all the time and at 3800 RPM, about 29 mph, it's very close to 2 mpg.
