has anyone paid to have their boat waxed recently? I was quoted a price of $25/foot for hull and all top surfaces except non-skid. I think that this is a little high.
Buffing and waxingAre they just putting a quick coat of wax on there, or are they first buffing it?
ThanksOK, then that sounds fair. To do it right, it does take some time. There's a lot of angles and things to go around, too.

Mike, did you mean to quote me or Old Man Goose?Have you done it yourself?
Hell of a lot of work if you do it right. I use a Cyclo buffer that does a great job and speeds the work but my arms, shoulders and back still feel it afterward. I retired 4 years back from LE but have always been into cars, boats, Bikes, and the like and have done my own work. When asked I have taken on detail jobs on the side for extra cash (though I’m good if I don’t). If you do it right it’s an all day job. I get asked a lot but I’ve been turning them down lately, it takes a lot out of me and though retired my plate of things I have to get done is full.
If you decide to do the job yourself get a Cyclo buffer. They go for about $350 for just the machine and with pads and materials another $150, but then you have it.
The thing I like about it is besides the amazing job it does it will not harm the surface your buffing.
I also use it to apply the wax.
uncle joe- can you send your nephew over to my boat?
