Picked up a little 1989 overnighter project and need some recommendations on a good cover. The boat has a 5BFEB8D0-C8A2-43FE-9975-E91A6270015F.jpegnotched transom with the original Yamaha 225 excel. Thanks!

Something to cover the entire boat while in a slip or on the trailer. I don’t need to tow with it on. Thanks

Those are typically two different styles of covers because of the way it tightens down. On the trailer, you can use straps to the trailer. But obviously you can't do that when in the water. So things have to be done a little different. Most go with a cockpit cover around the glass and the helm seating area. But to cover the entire boat you're definitely looking at talking with a local upholsterer/canvas maker to make something that suits you since you won't find it "off the shelf". Consider putting a ratchet strap in the hem, which would go just under the rubrail.

If in an area subject to snow and freezing, your cover choices and mounting options will be more critical. That is especially important if you are not able to check the boat 'every' day when there is inclement weather or strong winds.
Ponding water as well as ponding water that freezes can easily rip a cover.

X2 local canvas shop. Custom fit to your needs and usually similar price to off the shelf. Ask around to guys with boats you see with covers. Every area has a good canvas guy
