Should the cheap plastic around foam cushion Inserts be removed? Just noticed this on brand new Grady surprised to see this material want to assume this is intended to be temporary. Curious if others have removed the plastic wrap.
It serves two purposes. One is to shed moisture and the second is to make the foam slipperier to make insertion into the covers easier.
I have found that it can block mold from bleeding through the outer material. I suppose it also slows the growth of mold since it does 'starve' the foam of air to a point.

Not only does it make the foam cushion easier to insert or remove by being more slippery, but you can stick a shop vac to the foam, and greatly decrease the size of the cushion for long enough to remove or insert, and position correctly.
