Planning on redoing the Electronic locker to a flash mounted board with electronics. Thinking on 2x9" screens but does it leave space for the VHF ? Anybody done it similar way ?

You could take the radio and chartplotter out, remove the handles, and install display's there. Re-glass the opening allowing you to go wider and cut new holes.
I like two display but they may not fit side-by-side. One of mine are in the overhead box. If only one will fit a Garmin 8612xsv would be a good choice - higher screen resolution than 1243xsv.
Can't see if you have an overhead box but you could put the radio there. Alternative is to ditch the cup holder and put radio there. You can put the cup holders on the tower somewhere.
Consider NewWire Marine to upgrade switch panel look. Same with gauge panel.

If you have a top box, put the VHF there. Its the only thing you don't need to look at while using it. Also, puts the speaker nearer your ears....
Also, when you make a flush dash and install a VHF, the mic cord is a problem. IMO...move it up top.
Remove plexi doors. No need to reglass. you can use 1/2" starboard to cover outside of opening and make cutouts in starboard to mount mfd(s).
You can look at required cutouts on Garmin site for various models and decide what you want. I'm pretty confident you can put two 943s side by side.
I'm pretty confident you can get a single 12" but you might need to cut off the inner lips of the opening.
You also have the oppurtunity to move your engine gauges down and put a 9" in the upper space. It is nice to have a sonar screen that can be seen from the cockpit.
You have a whole lot of thinking and research to do before buying anything.

You could also mount the VHF underneath the dash or even potentially on top, up near where the compass is.

Best advice I can give is to make a model of the area - use cardboard to mock up the dash area, then go online to the MFD website and get the dimensions from the installation guide. Cut those out of paper or different cardboard, place them over the cardboard. That will go a long way towards seeing what will, or will not, fit.
Once you have an accurate model, you can then determine if you need to compromise or not. Be sure to get an idea of the entire area under the dash area, to ensure you don't run into an immovable object or wire bunch. Need to understand the area in 3 dimensions.

To give you an example that Kirk is referring to. Make sure you leave room for the protective covers for each device. I gave this dimensioned template to New Wire since they’re local. End result was excellent.

This is what I did on my 180 which probably has a smaller console than yours. I moved the compass to an in dash model and was able to mount two 9 inch Garmins up top. I hung the VHF from the top of the glove box.

What about this:
1 new Yamaha TFT-Screen gauge instead of the 4 round ones
1 VHF side of the gauge in black panel, or compass there and VHF in overhead console (what i prefer)
2 MFD's who fit in space under the Plexi door, remove door as you need access
New switch panel by NewWireMarine, same as old, if necessary
MFD's on top pf the console would be another solution but depending on captains height may obstruct view or be too far to touch comfortable, depending on belly size and arm length.

Have been looking at these VHF models. They save a lot of dash board space and you can take the remote inside away from the weather.
