First time on here, i am a long time owner of a 1995 30 ft marlin.bought it in 2005 at which time i replaced all the plastic through hull fittings with stainless steel through hulls at that time i found the plastic ones were cracked on the inside visible from outside. i carved out the rotted balsa around the holes and filled with epoxy filler so i could have a solid hull when tightening the nuts securing the through hulls. i did not find any wetness at that time , that was in 2005 .Recently i discovered both side hulls are wet (balsa ) and the outer skin is separated from the balsa wood core. i discovered this while washing the boat standing about 10 ft away using the jet mode on my garden hose i discovered the water drumming against the hull made different sounds in some areas and then i became suspicious of delamination . i tested by pressing with my finger tips and found allot of easy flexing of the outer skin. next i drilled some test holes near the water line and allot of water poured out for about a week or so . I was shocked to find the hull uses balsa all the way to the chine. i always thought highly of the brand and now i have a nightmare on my hands. any thoughts on least expensive method to correct this issue. funds are tight right now as is case with everyone i imagine, I would like to know if anyone can point me to someone near me ( Forked River , NJ ) that wont take me to the cleaners. i work long hrs 6 days a week and dont get to my computer to easy so bear with me if i take a little longer to reply back
i would appreciate any help, regards Dom

Damn If you didn’t need anymore stress right now. Here is a link to a thread going on right now with a guy buying a 282 sailfish with the same problem I think. Apparently on the bigger grady’s such as your they did balsa on the sides for ridgity but not anything for structure or strength of the hull. Similar size maybe close to what he got quoted for.
