Hi I have been looking to replace/fix some of the things that have worn out on my 1995, 26.8 Islander. Many of the web sites I look at list 1996-2001 years? Is there a difference between a 1995 and 1996 from a dimensional perspective?

thanks

You can download the catalogues for each year on the Grady White website. These have the dimensions and specs listed.

at one point the hulls had a stepped aft and the LOA was listed differently. go to GW website and look at the catalogs.

i'm guessing that is it. The 1995 spec is a 24' bottom run length. In 1996 the hull running surface was extended all the way back to the transom.

Just looked at both the 1995 and 1996 Brochures. The only difference I could see in the specification (and I could be missing something) is that the 1996 does not have a "Length of running Bottom" figure where the 1995 has that listed as 24'. If the 1996 they ran the bottom length all the way to the end of the transom that would give me the answer I'm looking for. Thanks to all ...

look closely at the pictures. you will see in 1996 the running surface goes all the way back to the transom. in 1995 there is approx. 2' gap.

oh, btw the specs are a bit different, in the LOA number for 1995 it follows with the running surface of 24', this is not in the 1996 specs.

Pretty confident the running surface wasn't extended till 2000 or 2001.

I have a 1998 and they are the same boat with the only difference being the 98 was the first year that made these changes: Bronze thru holes at the water line (which after 2000 they changes to SS) and the installation of "Green Board" as the transom material. The full aft hull design happened post 2000. The thought process was to gain flotation with the the heavier 4 stoke engine primarily V-6's however with the advent of Inline 4 cylinder four strokes the weight is now comparable with the original V-6 2 strokes the boat came from the factory back in its day.

Interesting that the 1995 brochure lists the weight w/o engines at 4200 lbs and the 1996 lists it at 4660 lbs. The brochure online has a line through the 4200 and then written is 4660 lbs.
