Direct Source for Grady White Stainless Steel Parts

I just picked up a pair of SS scupper drains from Marine Town USA, which is local to me. They supply Grady with a lot of SS parts such as drains, scuppers, and hinges. They used to be strictly business to business, but they told me that they now are willing to sell retail and take credit card orders. They even have a dedicated Grady White customer service person in the building who will find just about any GW part for you.

You need to register on their website in order to see the catalog and call about prices, but it is certainly worth a look. They were very helpful and have all sorts of neat 316 SS parts.

I paid $89 for the pair. That includes a temporary 10% surcharge to cover the cost of the trade war tariff. They did not have the check ball. It turns out that Grady doesn't use the check ball because it reduces water flow.

I've been in a Key West that does use the check ball in the drain along with a shower drain type (many holes) cover. It does drain a lot slower than the same size drain in my Grady with the T bar pattern. I'm always hosing a lot of blood and guts off the floor, so I didn't want the check valve. My new Honda is heavy, but water only comes in through the drains when I have a pair of particularly large friends fishing in the stern. I try to move them forward as long as they don't whine too much.

Doc there is this Marine Surplus store right off Route 19 on Grover Cleveland Ave in Homosassa Springs, always lot of good deals there too.

I use Quality Marine Surplus a lot, but it's hard to find Grady parts there. Not too many Gradys get scrapped.

I see that the company was originally base in Taiwan and relocated to Florida. They state that manufacturing is based in China. Does anyone know if original Grady stainless parts are made in China.That would surprise me especially for older parts but I could be surprised..

Grady gets their parts from these guys. I don't know how long the relationship goes back. Almost everything made of stainless steel has originated in China for a long time. The quality of Chinese parts depends on how much involvement the US company has with the quality control on the ground over there.

There are three complete sets (different sizes). Do you recall which one is for a GW?

If you call Marine Town on Monday, the Grady White specialist will look up the exact OEM part that you need.

BTW, the price I paid was much less than going through a Grady dealer. If I recall, the dealer wanted $70 for each drain.

These are now $95 on ebay, $70 at Marine Town plus 10% tariff and $55 at www.replacementboatparts.com,
I went with the latter.
