guys, gas prices out here really suck! and to make matters worse, we've had a total collapse of the local salmon fishery. there are a ton of boats going up for sale. if you're looking for a good deal on a boat, the west coast is the place to be. here's an example ....

there are actually three grady's here. something you never see! as for the gas prices, here's the station by my house .....

i don't know how things are on the east coast, but i'm willing to bet that they're better than here. alan

Hi Alan,

Hurts to see those signs. Here in Norfolk, we are about $0.70 less expensive right now.

I topped off the boat on Saturday at the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base Marina at $3.40/gal... it had been $3.20 a week before.

Brutal is a good description. Maybe I need to seriously consider keeping my 208 with the F150 'sipper' motor.

The duramax is $100 to fill up now, diesel is about $4.30 out here, probably more since I haven't filled up for a few weeks.

And the motorhome (8.1 gas) gets about 7mpg towing the boat. A trip to the river a couple of weeks ago (600miles) was over $400 for gas. However we didn't use much in the boat, maybe $50 worth. It was sure fun to run on Mojove Lake again, was beautiful over there. And no salt!

It was hard to believe there were so many RV's and motorhomes at the casinos in Laughlin. A ton of them were snow-birds making their return leg from Quartzite and the deserts out there, back north.

Oh well, we still go, just not as far or as often as before.

A few friends have aircraft of one sort or another. They say the small local airstrips are ghost towns with av-gas about $5.10 per gallon.

Alan, I was out your way a few days ago. Stayed across from Marina Del Ray (wow that is one BIG marina). I was paying about 3.95 for the car in the LA area. I walked around part of the marina and saw a few Grady's which was nice to see. While I was there I didn't see a single boat leave their slip. Granted, I wasn't watching all the time and it was cool, but thought I would see a bit of activity. None!

FYI I paid 4.15 at the local marina in Florida a few weeks ago. Ouch!
