Thats some assortment there. What’s the size of each of them and impact they have on your drift?

Ok, here are the sizes I have.

Yellow are 42"
Old blues are 48"
Blacks are 60"
New blues are 72" adjustable.

Again, wind speed dictates the size I will use. I haven't used the yellows in years as my boat size has gone up, so wind load has gone up. They can't slow me down enough and if the wind is light enough to use 2 yellows, I'm going to use a single blue on the harness. The yellows were my first socks I bought when I started drifting for the cats on Santee 32 years ago. I'm going to try the yellows on the bow next trip Walleye fishing and see if they'll slow me down enough with big motor running and help keep boat straight, might have to bump up to the old blues.

Thanks...Next time you use it, I am curious if you can make note of your speed first without it then with it.

I am going to start jotting down my various drifting speeds under different conditions. Wind was howling this weekend so I didn’t even bother as it was conditions I shouldn't have gone out in.

Still thinking about getting one to adjust the drift slightly but I want to give it another 5-10 tries to see if the lines ever go perpendicular to the boat. If not, thinking of 1 for the bow and maybe another one at a different size.

Just nervous I won’t be able to pull them in time before getting too close to another boat. Some people don’t understand about drifting and being courteous. I left myself a comfortable space between another boat only to have someone go between us this weekend.
