Electronics Plug Identification Needed

I was looking through all the various wires and plugs in the new to me 228G Seafarer and was wondering if anyone knew what this plug might connect to? So far I have found Garmin and Furuno wiring but this one had no names on it, any information or clues is greatly appreciated, thanks, DonElectricalConnection.jpg
 
I'm not positive, but it looks like a gauge wire harness. What does the white tag say?

Maybe the boat was re-powered with a different engine where that harness is no longer used?

But... what doesn't work on the boat? If all is good, don't worry about it - it was either something that was used in the past before a change was made or it's an "extra" from the factory (a generic wire harness, but only hooked up based on options).

Looking closer... based on the wire coloring I see, I would think something with the fuel sender/gauge.
 
There was a Yamaha fuel flow meter on the old fuel filter housing that I upgraded. The guys at the local boat shop had mentioned that when I showed them a picture. Maybe that was what this harness was used for.

Sorry, what I meant by "that makes sense" is that it is most likely something to do with the fuel system(not necessarily the flow meter) - pink is the standard wire color for a fuel level sender.

What engine do you have?

This is correct. I just converted my son’s 2012 F200 Yamaha to Command link round gauges.
 
Here’s another picture of the plug that seems to be factory original or it just happens to fit a factory connection or someone made a connection to fit the factory wiring harness

Cool thanks for clarifying, clear as mud. I’ll leave it in the boat for now even though I bought a Suzuki DF250 with controls and analog gauges that will be hung on the boat in 2 weeks
 
Oops actually it’s a 2012 with 200 hours so a slightly used outboard, first time I have owned Suzuki’s I’ve always been with Yamaha the last 22 years so fingers crossed that the Suzuki’s are as reliable as the Yamaha’s

Everyone in my Company switched to Zukes in 2014. Initially for price. Now for quality, warranty length and fuel economy.
All the outboards are great these days. We have just found the reliability and value of Suzuki to be outstanding.
 
I heard of some stripped oil pan plugs in early year zukes. I know one shop that when changing oil wouldn't try to unscrew the plug. They would suck out the oil through the did stick hole.Personally, I have no experience on zukes.
Everything I hear on this board has been positive
