I could not find an older post I saw to update, so I am starting a new post about the quick connect fittings for the engine flush port in the engine well. The company that makes these quick connect fittings is CPC (Colder Products Company) I know the male coupling fitting that screws on to a garden hose is correct. The female panel mount that is mounted to the boat is either a 3/8 barbed fitting or a 1/2 inch barbed fitting. I am pretty sure it is the 3/8 barb, but I am not at my boat right now to verify. I ordered the male quick coupling with female garden hose threads from FreshWaterSystems.com. They arrived in two days.

The fitting part numbers are:

HFCD261257GHT Valved Female Thread Male Coupling Insert 3/4 FGHT (Female Garden Hose Thread)

This thread was helpful as Grady White did not supply the hose end coupling with my 2022 Freedom 285 due to "supply chain shortage". freshwatersystems.com has the HFCD261257GHT Valved Female Thread Coupling Insert 3/4 FGHT in stock.

One question though: Is the valved coupling necessary/preferable (vs. the FFC261235GHT Non-Valved Female Thread Coupling Insert 3/4 FGHT)? Didn't know if the valved version would reduce water pressure in the outboard flush. The Yamaha F300's won't pee when the flush water pressure is too low. Thanks.

If the male piece is valved then you have to use a female valve piece. Otherwise, how would the valve "open"?

Peeing doesn't matter. Just turn the hose on but do not start the engine.

Which was the correct one? Which size attaches to the hoses that come out of the transom?

CPC HFCD57 (valved) and HFC57 (non-valved) male and female series QCs work with each other no matter if one side is valved and the other isn’t. They are specifically designed to operate this way.
