Extend hard top.228 seafarer

Hello all, anyone find a way to extend the hard top in the back to cover the rear seats? I asked a similar question a while back, only one real reply I received was a camper top. Really just looking for a
Couple feet to keep the seats from getting wet. Hard to find anything pre-made for the 2000 boat. Anyone that may have done this please chime in

There are 'rear sun shades' that attach to the hardtop and are supported by poles and straps but keeping the rear seats dry is not their main purpose. They are meant to provide shade. There are rear deck covers similar to helm covers that cover the deck and potentially seating but you cant ride with them on.So, exactly what do you want? Protection from rain while at the slip or shade/ some rain protection while out boating?
Either way, both are custom and can run a bunch of bucks

Looking for something that can be left in place mainly for fishing but also to keep the weather off (rain/snow) when docking. I love in the up. Sometimes it snows in July here!!!

So... you never answered the question... did you actually buy the boat? Or is this still just theory?

Here's a couple questions I had asked but didn't hear back from you...

Dittoing what Seasick mentioned... you can't have your cake and eat it too. What is your main goal - sunshade or rainshade?

Actually, I should take back what I said about not having your cake. A camper canvas setup DOES provide that functionality - both sun and rain protection.

I have fat fingers I meant gods county UP Michigan. Where I have actually witnessed snow in July. I am going to pick up the boat this weekend. Talked to a local Canvase guy, who I am sure could make something but trying to get over the purchase price shock and get by for a while with something less expensive. I do appreciate your help and don’t want to wast anybody time.

Really surprised that the roof design does no cover the back passenger. Even the back curtains that I see the seat is hanging out. Was hoping someone had the same concerns as I have in the past and resolved it. I hate reinventing the wheel. I see lots of Bimini typ tops that may or may not work but like I said looking hopefully for a pic or 2 of someone’s solution.

As far as the coverage goes, plain and simple, keep in mind that you are buying a boat where a decent priority is put to fishing. A second bimini (a single bimini is not big enough to cover the entire cockpit) would get in the way of fishing. The existing bimini top was specifically designed NOT to cover more of the cockpit.

Plenty of people have been down the road of adding more canvas - you're not reinventing anything. That was my intent of suggesting the googling for camper canvas. But you'll need to have that done locally/custom. And, yes, it will cost a couple thousand or more - but it is what it is.

The other thing you could do is switch the boat you are buying to one that comes with a camper canvas - a boat that is designed to be used more like what you are asking (rain protection). For example, a Sea Ray Express or Sundancer (and other similar pleasure cruisers). What you're asking is sort of like buying a little sports car but then wondering why it wasn't designed to hold 5 people and their luggage
