External Fuel Pump Fischer Panda 4+

Hello fellas, it's been awhile! Busy here.

I'm replacing the fuel lines, external pump and filter housing for my Panda Mini4+ that came with my 2007 Marlin.

I have the filter housing, hoses are easy, but I want to make sure I'm using the correct fuel pump. The lettering is all corroded on the unit, the online manuals at FP website and others are vague, I can't find any pump that looks similar online or in local shops, and I'm not confident enough to just pick one from the vast assortment of pumps available to experiment.

Can someone throw me a bone? I think I know what I'd get if I HAD to, but I don't. So let's see how close I got with my guess when you guys tell me what to do.

Tried to see the label on mine, but I'd have to pull a panel to see it. I'd call Fischer Panda in Ft. Lauderdale and ask one of their tech reps. They will know what is required and may even have one in stock. I've found their prices are competitive for parts.

Other Randy- My fuel tank is located aft of the FP genny below and to starboard. Fuel line comes off the tank and runs to this pump located on the starbord bulkhead of the aft bilge, then to a fuel filter, then into the FB enclosure where it has an internal filter and pump.

Local shop says contact FP, FP says since it's outside the box I'm on my own, and I haven't heard back from Grady Tech Support via my email yesterday.

Here's the picture of the pump (found a replacement filter housing easily). You can see whatever identification probably was on the top that corroded away, the only markings I can see are Marine Fuel Pump, UP IN and OUT. I'm pretty sure I could replace this with any low pressure diesel fuel pump, but before doing so I thought I'd make sure I had a good command of what I was doing. Any help you can give would be appreciated, maybe you have the same pump with better identification?

According to FP, Grady shipped my boat with a Walbro pump that is no longer made due to advances in power use. You can find a similar pump here:

But they were unsure which model to recommend because FP now ships all gennys with this pump:

There's a few more rocks I'm going to turn over, but it appears it's not rocket science and at least a starting point for your future replacements.

I checked with our engineering folks and although it is external, it was part of the Mini 4 kit provided by Fischer Panda. They can assist with specifics and replacement info at (800) 509-6494.

So, after finally completing all my research and talking to Grady, local mechanic, FP rep, and the rep at Walbro, I found you can use anything rated for diesel that runs in the 20GPH range and minimum of 3.5PSI. Facet 40176 is what FP is supplying to Grady on the new models. I ended up going with the Walbro FD-1, although I could have bought two Facet's for the same price. Looked more bombproof, liked the additional data I received, and space and weight aren't really a concern in this application.

Posting on an old topic, but I'm replacing the same fuel pump.

Thanks for following up with the GPH and pressure info. It makes life easier and will save a day in ordering on a Sunday night.

Can’t believe it’s almost been 4 years

External of the Walbro pump corroded after about a year, but has been functional. About time to replace again probably.

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life and for your research. I ran into a dead end attempting to find info on a replacement - both from FP and from GW (wanted to put a spare on board). Now I have a direction and will grab one to have in case the original fails.
