Extra Bolster Fabric?

Anyone have any of the pleated vinyl that they want to get rid of? I hate to buy 3 yards, and use less than half. I could get by with a 24" wide, by 3 yard piece.

The fabric is sold in a width of 54 inches. If you need 3 yards you’ll need to buy that much.

And then I will have a piece about 30 by 108 left over. I thought someone else may already be in the same position, and want to recoup half their cost.

Check fabric warehouse. I think you may be able to get a yard.

I guess a picture is worth a thousand words. Bolsters are one piece wraparound, 96 inches long, although they may end up being two piece. Each piece of fabric is 8 –11 inches wide, depending on whether or not I end up using mesh or grommets. Either way, a yard won’t cut it.
Maybe I will end up selling leftover fabric, instead of buying someone else’s. Seems to be a lot simpler.

yea, not what I was thinking.... you may have to sew a couple together as you said to be material efficient.

Pre pandemic I was pleasantly surprised on how reasonable a local upholstery shop charged to a similar amount of bolsters. If you have not already it might e worth checking a few shops, if I recall correct he had the material on hand from another job.

They really should be done as one piece so you need 3 yards. And you need some piping material and a sewing machine.

This is a very common material that shops stock maybe at pre-pandemic prices and have remnants.

i just bought 3 yards from fabricland.com ? farbricwarehouse? for the same project... i will have some leftovers i could sell you but im west coast in canada. shipping might not make this the cheapest way to go

Thank you, I made a couple of stops on the way to the coast this afternoon, and found everything I need.

Finally cleared out enough space in the garage to set up some work tables, and knocked out my bolster recover. Replaced the 23 year old foam rubber with two layers of EVA, that I cut and glued together. Changed the original insert to a seam, to get the 90° corner. Started with a new box of 1000 Monell staples, ended up with eight left in the staple gun.

Thanks guys. Brings me back to the reason I started this thread, asking if everyone had already done it, and had extra fabric left over. Started with $142 worth of roll and pleat, and ended up with $98 worth left over. That’s my 2nd cut.
I have to recover my cabin cushions, maybe I’ll recover the bolsters in there, although I think they’re in good shape.

Still saved a ton doing it yourself. Rollup and put away, you'll find another project in 5-7 years!
