will I see a big difference in extra weight from 2 stroke to 4 strokes on a 27' sailfish?

Update, the new motors work very well, and don't even feel any difference in the weight. But what I did notices was the fuel usage it's about half .
Very happy with the upgrade. money well spent.

200 hp adding About 300lb with the 200 4 strokes
Are those Hondas you are considering?
Yamaha 4 cylinder 200's aren't too much heavier than 2 strokes. Even the Merc v6 weighs about the same, but are impossible to attain. 4 cylinder zukes are about 50 lbs heavier than the Yamahas. The v6 Honda 200 is a porker - about 150-160 lbs over the Yamahas.

so, thats 121 lbs per motor for a total added weight of 242. the difference is having a big buddy sitting on the back of the boat compared to going out alone....

you could offset some of that by switching to lighter batteries, or moving the batteries forward.

Just re-powered my 1995 GW 272 Sailfish from 1994 Yamaha 200hp stroke saltwater series (390lbs) to 2022 Yamaha 200hp Inline 4 strokes (516lbs) and will let you know. That is a 258 lb difference less the two filled 2 stroke oil tanks say around 50 lbs maybe?? so 210 lbs difference. We shall see....

after rethinking my worries , I finely realized, 300 lbs , isn't a lot of weight. I guess I'm just over thinking a trouble that isn't even there . I've been out fishing with 12 people , never had, or thought about the weight as a trouble. What is 300 lbs, two small people. thanks for everyone input. will report later and fill in on any trouble I have. thanks

12 people? Maybe inshore. 6 offshore.
