Faded gauge /faded display fixed!

After doing some research I decided to tackle my old tach gauge, was barely readable. Was a little nervous to mess it up given the cost of the gauges, but looks almost brand new.l after swapping out the polarized lenses on both sides of the display (did not mess with the reflector on this one as it looked good).
After handling the electronic part, I cleaned up the lens (gauge in picture is crooked, final product is not).

Didnt replace, used some rubbing alcohol on the inside of the lenses although I do not k ow of this is recommended. As soon as alcohol touched it, it looked like ice shards. Not sure how this will effect it long term (possibly an anti fog coating or something), but took about 45 minutes with alcohol pads and regular paper (to fit in tight spaces) to get it all out bit was worth the effort
If still not clear was gonna polish but all the fog was from inside. See picture after rubbing alcohol touched.
As you can see lost a little color over the oil and temp gauge, but looks a million times better.

Just an idea. If you encounter moisture, try again and then bake the lenses prior to reassembly and install slightly warm.

Good idea - so far so good but waiting to get a hot day with some sun to see if they fog up.
